1. Eligibility

Accounts may be created only by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 (the “account holder”). You must be the student’s parent or legal guardian, or be authorised by them, to submit the student’s details.

The assessment is designed for students in Classes 9 to 12. Students may take the assessment only through the account holder’s account and with their permission. Students must not create accounts themselves.

2. Your account

  • Provide accurate and complete information, including the student’s details and birth details, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at support@decodepath.in if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • Each paid assessment is for one named student and may not be transferred, resold or shared with another student.

3. The Service

After payment, the Service includes:

  • One online assessment of 25 questions for the named student.
  • An online report in your account, which you can also download as a PDF.
  • An optional email summary of the report sent to your registered email address.

The Service is delivered digitally. Nothing is shipped. Delivery timelines are set out in our Shipping and Delivery Policy.

4. Fees and payment

The Service is a one-time fee per student assessment of [TO FILL: Final price per assessment in ₹, inclusive of taxes]. The price that applies to you is shown before you pay. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI, net banking or wallet details. Access to the assessment unlocks only after our server has verified the payment with Razorpay. If verification fails or is pending, access remains locked until the payment is confirmed.

We may change our prices at any time. Price changes do not affect assessments already paid for.

5. Refunds and cancellation

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy. When a payment is fully refunded, access to that assessment and its report ends automatically.

6. What the report is and is not

The report is an educational guidance tool to help families think about subjects, streams and career directions. Please read it with these limits in mind:

  • Career profile: the assessment is a psychometric-style questionnaire. It is not a validated clinical or psychological test, and it does not diagnose any condition. Results depend on the answers given and may change over time.
  • Career directions: suggestions to explore and discuss, not recommendations that any particular course, stream, college or career is right or will succeed.
  • Vedic astrology section: a separately labelled interpretation based on the traditional Vedic astrology system using the birth details provided. Astrology is an interpretive tradition, not a science, and this section is not a prediction of the student’s future. Its accuracy also depends on the birth details entered.
  • Not professional advice: the report is not a substitute for advice from a qualified career counsellor, psychologist, doctor or other professional, and is not admissions, legal or financial advice.
  • No guarantees: we do not guarantee any exam result, admission, scholarship, job or other outcome.

Important decisions should take into account the student’s own interests, academic record and advice from teachers, counsellors and family. If a student is in distress, please seek help from a qualified professional.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false information or details of a child you are not authorised to act for.
  • Share your login, or resell, republish or commercially use the assessment, questions or reports.
  • Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the questions, scoring logic or report templates.
  • Attempt to bypass payment, access other users’ data, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

The DecodePath name and logo, website, assessment questions, scoring methods, report text and design belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial licence to use the student’s report for the student’s own education and career planning, including sharing it with family, teachers and counsellors. All other rights are reserved.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle parent and student information, including children’s data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Razorpay for payments and email and hosting providers. Your use of Razorpay checkout is also subject to Razorpay’s terms. We are not responsible for outages or errors caused by third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we will help you resolve any resulting issue.

11. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance or improve the assessment and report. Changes will not reduce what you have already paid for. If we cannot deliver a paid report, you will be entitled to a refund under our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of the report. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the assessment concerned.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@decodepath.in. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or is used fraudulently, after notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property and limitation of liability, continue after termination.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the courts at [TO FILL: City for courts’ jurisdiction], India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Contact and grievances

Complaints can be sent to our Grievance Officer, [TO FILL: Grievance Officer full name], at [TO FILL: Grievance Officer / privacy email].
